Here we go!

29 oktober 2017 - Perth, Australië

First I would like to thank everyone for the cards and awesome original gifts! I can really appreciate those things! Even when they are simple or little!

Luckly I didn't had to work on Friday so I had time to organize the last things for my trip, packing for example and checking if I had all the important documents on my tablet. Sort out all the stuff on the bed and then try to put it all in, at a logical place, in my new backpack. Im always surprised how many stuff you eventually want to take with you, well not that you will need all the stuff but it mite come in handy like ductape, tyraps and floss (think about Austin Powers). You never know.

In the evening it was time for a beer (or two) and playing some pool. Karin and I against our boyfriends and they kicked our asses (we let them win offcourse).

In the morning the boys brought me to the airport and then it was time to get on the flight.

My first flight was to London, a one hour flight and then I had six hours to catch the next one. So plenty of time. When I got in London I got a message from my dad that my bike in Holland was sold. So what am I gonna do in those six hours?! The first thing I thought about doing was. . . SHOPPING!

No offcourse that wasn't what I was thinking. . I need to celebrate that, I thought. I found a spot at the bar and orded a tomato soup. Let the holidays begin!

My second stop was after a 12 hour flight in Hong Kong. We had a delay for over 20 minutes so I had 40 minutes to get my connecting flight. Someone told me that it takes a while in Hong Kong before you are at the next gate so I should hurry. But they are pretty organized there so someone was already waiting with a list of names so we could pass the security a little bit faster! Stress less! I even had time to brush my teeth and freshen up a little bit, you don't wanna know what a 12 hour flight does with my make-up!

Seven hours later I arrived in Perth. Quick through the security . . well that was what I thought but not what happend. When you get to Australia you need to fill in a form; who you are, why you are there, when you will leave, where you gonna stay etc. And I couldn't fill in an Adress because I simply didn't remember it, the last time that I've been here was 4 years ago. So I was send to someone else and I could explane here why I didn't know where I was staying. Do I have a phonenumber of them, euhm. .no I don't have a number, do I know which suburn they live in. . euhm which one do you have? Can I prove that I will leave Australia again. . yeah! That was one of the documents I put on my tablet!

Next. . getting my bag. I wait and wait and wait. . already see the same bag pass me for the fourth time. . The only thing that I was worried about was that my bag didn't got threw security while I had a kitchen knife in it (the blade had the mountains of Schwitserland on it). That was a present for the family where I would stay.
I went and asked what I should do when my bag wasn't coming. . do I have an adres they asked. . no *not this again, a phonenumber then?. . I have my own number, that will do. . When I walked back I saw my back laying on the ground next to the conveyor belt. . hmm thats why I couldn't find it before. .

So security check number two. . where is that form with all those questions again. . I had to take it out a few times and show some people but did I got it back the last time? Because I couldn't show it right away I had to get in another line. . and there the next security man was waiting for me. . luckly it didnt took to long for I had found it and then I was allowed to go further.

That all took about an hour. . hopefully Joe and Christine were still waiting for me I thought and offcourse they were.

When we were home we had some catching up to do. A few hours later we went to bed and I was pretty glad about that because in six hours I wanted to get up again. Let the Aussie days begin!
