Ice and Ice Cold!

We had to drive to FranZ Josef. Our first stop was in Greymounth at the Warehouse; Where everyone gets a bargain. That sounds nice, bargains! Really my thing. Getting a fleece blanket for Simone! Against that warehouse their was a groceries shop, finally getting Simone's Hamburgers!
She got into the car and getting on the road, standing on the right side of the roundabout wondering why someone was horn-honking her. Then I looked up and said that she was on the wrong side of the roundabout. . well now you just right, lucky no one was coming. . At something you just can not get use to it I suppose, rookie mistake.
We didn't die so it was funny. My lip was getting better, had his normal size again lucky.

Simone already made a reservation at one Hostel for two night, thank God because everything was full! And now we had one with a Jacuzzi and a BBQ!! Nice. That's the first place we stayed for more then one night!! Take a breath. There was a phone as well that we could use to make overseas calls. But only to landlines. So we could call home if we wanted. . Nice.

When we went to bed one of our roommates was just nervously walking around and talking to himself. . And then he told us not to worry because he already had called an ambulance to take him home. . I don't think that an ambulance works like a taxi, but well what do I know. Strange guy. He definitely had used some drugs or something like that. He took his stuff out and was still talking. . and then he left. With his stuff still outside the door.
Time to lock the door and go to sleep!

Today we could sleep in because we didn't had to check out. So our alarm went of at 9am and then we snoozed a bit. And if we didn't had it good enough. . I made eggs with bacon as breakfast! Jammie!
My lip was thick again in the morning and burning a bit. . now it had blisters on it as well. . Perhaps it was actually from burning my mouth on the food?! Still didn't make sense when you asked me. I hope that it will be better in a few days. Because then we would be in Queensland and I wanted to get my lip pierced. .

The weather was better again today. Well the last day the Fox Glacier tour got cancelled because of the clouds. Then the helicopter doesn't fly apparently. In the helicopter we had headphones and music. That was pretty nice! Flying to the ice glacier!!

Just a six minutes flight. The glacier that we walked on was just 200m thick and when Simone and I are playing Sjoemel (card game) in the nursing home that glacier will not be there anymore. Strange idea.
We had a walk of two or three hours and they showed us a waterfall, wholes in the ice and little puddles.

Then at one puddle they asked who wanted to swim. Well you just have to ask me that once!! Just for the picture it's already awesome when you ask me. Our two tourguides were a bit surprised so I asked if I really was allowed to. Off course I was. . A German guy was also up for it. Simone wasn't sure but decided to join. Then an English woman said to her husband that he should also do it!
And because of that we were already in it he couldn't stay out. Nice but cold! The German guy was really cold and when he got out of it he just couldn't move he said (sounds worse then it was), Simone didn't stay long and got out as soon as a picture was taken, I stayed in a bit longer because you really get to use to it and then its fine! And the Englishman. . he was like a cat. . jumped in and had to get out as soon as possible. He had a little yell just to let us know how cold it was.
It was even so cold that his wife was asking where his penis went. . Lucky that wasn't our problem. It was funny anyway. Because the sun was shining I covered my lip, didn't want to get it burned more.

Back into the helicopter!  We passed some souvenirs shops and a bar that had happy hour cocktails soon. Good idea! We didn't really went into a bar before so better get two cocktails then! With some chips and nuts with it. . jammie.
After that I called home for a few minutes and we went into the Jacuzzi with our bottle of port. Did I already tell you guys that we have a hard life?!

I made chicken on the BBQ and asparagus with cheese and ham. Hmmmmmm. Time to go to a bar! Still was a quiet night and we were home between 1 and 2. 

We woke up and had some eggs with bacon. I finally booked my flight. I was thinking about that for days, because I just didn't knew where to go. I wanted to go back to Australia but the ticket was to expensive and it took me to long to fly. I needed to go back to Auckland anyway, my return flight goes from there. I wanted to go to Wellington and then drive up to Auckland. Then I thought perhaps just go to Auckland and do go all the way south. So that I have more time and don't have to stress. Then I met a girl who said that it was easy to do, driving from south to Auckland.
Okey then I will do that. . But decided to fly to Auckland anyway. Just taking it easy, take my time and don't stress. We really do a lot now and driving a lot. And when I'm alone. I don't want to drive so much on my own. I got my first hostel booked aswell! Fat camel. It had his own bar!! Sounds nice.
So that's sorted. . only I need to rent a car still. That's for another day.
