Chugchilán-Quilotoa

My shoe was fixed so we could start day two off the hike! Today was less far then yesterday, 11,4km but we had to climb a bit more (1000m elevation) so it would take us longer. It took us 6 1/2hours.

From the beginning off it was cloudy and after a few kilometers it started dripping. I put on my raincoat and looked like Quasimodo for the rest of the day. Although it was not necessary to have it on all the way, the rain was not that bad, but it was nice and warm. All the sweating in combination with the wind was a bit chilly.

This walk was also really nice and even the weather was good. Climbing uo hills and walking in the sun is not always the best. 

You could feel the change of altitude so we just took it slow to have enough time to catch our breath in between. And because we took it slow I didn't think is was that hard then I had imagined. My first walk here that I did (Cuicocha) was actually less hard but it fellt so much heavier. So Im glad I had some practise before starting with this track! 

Coming at the top of the crater, it was worth all the steps we made! It was stunning! Especially because you have the lake on one side and the  valley on the other side!

Now we only had to walk one more hour around the crater to reach our goal and that was the time that it really started to rain.

The two persons which I was walking with, they wanted to go to Baños as next destination, just like me. But they decided to get a bus back, pick up their backpack and go straight to the that town. But I choose to stay here a night and hope for good weather in the morning to enjoy the crater and the lake a bit more! 

For now I just wanted to have a hot shower, didn't want to walk around another town and wanted to know that I will get food in a bit.

Sitting in the bus with my cold and sweaty clothes on and not be able to get changed for the next 4hours.. no thank you. And I was very happy with that choice! Because when I had time to get a shower, light the stove in my bedroom, had some food and went to my warm bedroom.. they didn't even arrive in their hostel yet...
